"The aim was to remind visitors of the inflatable castles
of their childhoods." - (Frearson, 2016.)
Named Skum, the Danish word for foam, this whimsical flat-pack structure consists of bubble-like spheres made using the same material as bouncy castles. The playful feel of the pavillion really shows in the evening when the coloured LED lights are illuminated, allowing the structure to change its appearance.
This use of lighting within a structure is something that would translate well into the furniture of the Soap Co design. Backlit materials would create a soft lighting scheme and the use of coloured LEDs could also serve as wayfinding and zonal distinction.
